From gorgeous biscuits and macarons to cakes zinging with springtime freshness, bakers have crafted a raft of sweet treats to mark Mother’s Day this year.

There are a few brand partnerships giving rise to unique gift bundles and plenty of seasonal flavours employed in the bakes such as lemon, raspberry, rose, and strawberry.

Biscuit tin, Biscuiteers x Cornishware

A partnership between hand-iced biscuit specialist Biscuiteers and stripey pottery brand Cornishware has produced a range of sweet ideas for a Mother’s Day gift this year.

The Personalised Cornishware Time for Tea Biscuit Tin (rsp: £39.95) features a collection of mug and teapot shaped biscuits adorned in Cornishware’s new colourway, Summer Rose, along with some afternoon tea sweet treat designs.

There’s also the Personalised Cornishware Mug Letterbox Biscuit (£14.95) and the Time for Tea Hamper (£80), which comes with a biscuit tin, Cornishware mug, and tea pouch inside an illustrated gift box.

Sweet treats and flowers, Cutter & Squidge

Bakery brand Cutter & Squidge says it wants to reimagine ‘Mum Time’ as a moment of joy, indulgence, and intentional self-care. Its also collaborating with fellow London business Freddie’s Flowers to bundle curated blooms with its latest sweet treats.

Options include Afternoon Tea at Home paired with Rosy Gingham letterbox flowers and a charming vase (rsp: £64.99), the indulgent Ultimate Fudge Salted Caramel Brownies Box paired with Rhubarb Ribbon letterbox flowers (£46.99), or Lemon Drizzle Cake with the elegant Morning Dew classic flowers (£67.99). All are available for nationwide delivery.

Cutter & Squidge is also selling various hampers (from £35.99) combining sweet and savoury bakes, some with tea or a bottle of prosecco, for indulgences at home. And it is offering an in-store Mother’s Day afternoon tea experience at its Soho bakery this weekend (14 and 15 March).

A limited-edition Floral macaron gift box (rsp: £13) has been created by Two Magpies Bakery-owned brand Hilton Macarons for mums, or indeed anyone who deserves something sweet on Mother’s Day.

It features six different macarons in flavours of Raspberry & Rose, Passionfruit & Lychee, Blueberry & Lavender, Raspberry, Passionfruit, and Blueberry. Each shell is printed with watercolour-style flowers said to reflect the time of year and provide an alternative to a traditional bouquet of flowers.

Another beautiful array of macarons, this time on a cake, has been unveiled by bakery chain Paul UK for Mother’s Day celebrations.

The Macaron Fraisier Cake (rsp: £56) consists of layers of light and airy Genoese sponge, velvety mousseline cream, a thin layer of almond marzipan and fresh strawberries – crowned with a colourful ring of Paul’s signature macarons. Serving six to eight people and coming with a personalised message, it is available for delivery to London postcodes or via Click & Collect at Paul stores in London, Reading, and Oxford.

The retailer has packaged up six indulgent, handmade mini cakes inspired by classic spring flavours into a gift box for Mother’s Day.

The set (rsp: £7.50), under its premium tier No. 1 range, includes two each of sponge cakes with vanilla buttercream and lemon curd, sponge cakes with raspberry buttercream and dried raspberry pieces, and lemon sponge cakes soaked with orange juice and topped with orange buttercream.
