Greggs Delivered, the much-anticipated home delivery service from the Tyneside baker, is being trialled in Newcastle city centre.
The service delivers directly to offices and homes for free, and offers a range of freshly prepared sandwiches, salads, sweet treats, snacks, cold drinks and savouries.
Raymond Reynolds, retail director at Greggs, said in a statement: “Convenience is key in the food-on-the-go market and we are extremely excited to offer delivery of a selection of our great-tasting, freshly prepared food directly to our customers by trialling a free delivery service in two of our Newcastle city centre shops.”
To order, customers can visit the Greggs Delivered website and select their location. Orders should be placed before 5pm for next-day delivery and must be paid for with a credit or debit card. Delivery will take place the next day between 10am and 12pm.
There is a minimum spend of £20, and the service is being run from two Newcastle city centre branches – the website will tell consumers if their postcode is eligible.
The service is currently also available at Cobalt Business Park, where it has been in operation since October, with more trial locations set to follow in 2017.
