Crosstown, known for its sourdough doughnuts, has unveiled a ‘floral forward’ range of botanical inspired sweet treats.
The limited-edition collection, called Botanarchy, is said to blend botanical beauty with ‘boundary pushing flavour combinations’ of doughnuts and cookies. It comprises:
- Jasmine & Rhubarb Doughnut – this vegan-friendly treat is described as a ‘modern flavour statement for summer’. It’s filled with tangy rhubarb compote and decorated with delicate jasmine tea infused glaze and butter icing, all finished with a floral buttercream crown and edible jasmine petals
- Lavender Crème Brûlée Doughnut – Crosstown’s twist on the patisserie classic. The vegan doughnut has a custard-filled centre and is layered with lavender buttercream, crackable golden glaze, piped meringue, and edible lavender flowers
- Pistachio & Salted Caramel Cookie – Crosstown’s signature chewy cookie base swirled with pistachio ganache, salted caramel, and gooey chocolate pieces, topped with edible petal confetti
- Pistachio & Salted Caramel Cookie Cup – Is it a cookie or is it a lid? It’s both, according to Crosstown, which says the innovation brings a whole new vibe to cool summer drinks. The cookie cup can be slid onto the top of a drink with a hole for the straw so you can sip and then bite the edges.
The range is available via Crosstown stores and online until 14 July. The doughnuts cost £5.95 each, and the cookies cost £3.45 each but both are available as part of a doughnut/cookie and drink deal from £8.50 or £4.95, respectively.
Florals, often paired with fruit, are gaining popularity in the bakery market. Fellow doughnut business Borough 22 embraced Arabian rose as a flavour for a plant-based and gluten-free treat earlier this year while Hilton Macarons utilised lavender, hibiscus, and orange blossom as part of a six-strong range of fruit and flora macarons.
“Floral doesn’t have to mean delicate,” commented Crosstown CEO Jo Blundell. “Botanarchy is all about fusing elegance with attitude – these products are vibrant, unexpected, and crafted to excite both the eyes, mind and the palate.”
Former Papa John’s managing director Blundell joined Crosstown late last year to help lead its next chapter of expansion and innovation. She came on board just a few months after the business was acquired by franchise operator Karali Snacks.
Under its new owner Crosstown is promising more ‘deliciously unhinged hybrid flavours and formats’ over the summer as it looks to shake-up the cronut status quo, stating that ‘Botanarchy is just getting started’. The NPD reflects a broader consumer appetite for elevated indulgence, natural ingredients, and Instagrammable craftsmanship, the firm added, and follows a series of high-profile brand collaborations during 2025 including the UK’s first CBD-infused doughnut, a Valentine’s collab with Candy Kittens, and a beauty/food crossover with NYX Cosmetics.
