Jacksons of Yorkshire has added premium hot cross buns to its product range.
Launching exclusively in Waitrose this week, the buns are infused with tea and have one of the highest fruit contents on the market, according to the bakery.
They are also free of palm oil, as are all Jacksons’ products after the William Jackson Food Group business last year removed the ingredient from across its range.
“We thought very carefully about how to broaden the Jacksons range and our new hot cross buns are a perfect addition,” said Jacksons managing director David Balmer.
“They’re premium like the rest of the range, and they stay very close to our Yorkshire roots – they’re made in Yorkshire, with flour milled in Yorkshire, and the fruit is even infused with Yorkshire Tea. It’s a really exciting time for the brand.”
The launch of the hot cross buns, which have a recommended retail price of £1.89 for a four-pack, follows the revamp of the Jacksons’ Champion bread range.
The range – formerly known as Jackson’s Yorkshire’s Champion Bread – has been given a new look and has been rebranded as Jacksons of Yorkshire.
