Cheshire-based baked snacks brand Sweet Nothings has revealed to British Baker that it is bringing out a unique all-butter flapjack bites range, with no added sugars and 100% natural ingredients.
The brand, which has been trading for 12 months, will be introducing four flapjack variants to the market in mid-February, including fruit & nut, lime & coconut, ginger & lemon and apple & vinefruit.
Stuart Andrew, founder and director of Sweet Nothings, told British Baker that he has been working on this product for the last four years.
“Nobody else has done it and, from my understanding, we are completely unique. I’ve looked at every branding that I can find and all of them have added sugars in them,” he said.
The products, which are sweetened only with fruit and are gluten-free, will be sold into health food outlets such as Holland & Barrett, as well as into gymnasiums and leisure centres.
The company works with a credited bakery that has developed the flapjack product, but Andrews declined to name the business as he wanted to “keep them out of the public domain”.
Andrew added that, eventually, the range could be available in cafés and the “farm food community”.
