Bakery supplier Delice de France has unveiled a hot drink concept for foodservice operators.
The monthly rental concept called Café Delice is said to offer margins of 40% for outlets selling at least 35 cups a day. The menu includes options of coffee, tea, or hot chocolate.
As part of the deal, operators are supplied with a fully automatic bean-to-cup machine, linked milk cooler, branded housing unit and menu, as well as product and waste storage areas. The modular set up caters to different sized outlets and needs, with both floor-standing and counter solutions available. Full servicing and cleaning packs are also provided for the agreement period.
A suggested retail price of £2.75 for a regular 12oz latte results in a 40% margin when taking into consideration cost of ingredients plus the rental fee, which starts from £360 per month. Outlets could make more than £10,000 a year based on a forecast of 35 cups per day, noted Delice de France.
“With Café Delice, we have a reliable and strong brand that offers our partners lucrative margins and completes their to-go offer,” commented Delice de France CEO Thierry Cacaly.
The bakery supplier has partnered with female-founded coffee business Modern Standard for beans with a focus on its hero product, Momentum Espresso. The 100% Arabica medium roast product, made with a combination of 70% Brazilian and 30% Columbian beans, offers the strength and depth that other coffee-to-go products can lack, claimed Delice de France. It is available in cases of 12x1kg bags, with each bag serving 55 cups.
“Through our partnership with Modern Standard, we are offering the quality that consumers expect at a price point that will ensure our partners can be competitive,” added Cacaly.
For its tea, Delice de France has partnered with Dorset-based brand Clipper to offer a range of organic and fairtrade teas that are plastic-free, including English Breakfast, Decaf, and Earl Grey varieties. Hot chocolate is the Le Royal Choco Flavour Mix from Barry Callebaut, provided in 10x1kg bags with each bag enough for 35 cups.
The Café Delice concept also supplies the likes of brown and white sugar, sweetener sticks, and Sweetbird Vanilla, Caramel, and Hazelnut syrups. Each 1lt bottle of syrup uses two pumps and offers servings for 62 cups. For packaging, Delice de France has a range of Edenware coffee cups and lids, which use a plant-based lining as an environmentally friendly alternative.
Just over a year ago, Delice de France rolled out 55 new bakery products for foodservice including a New York-style Cacao Croissant, a Chocolate Babka, and a Khobez-style Flatbread.
