Birds Bakery is giving its customers the chance to win chocolate prizes by finding a golden rabbit hidden in their stores.

The business has created golden versions of its 18cm tall Belgian chocolate bunny for customers to try and find in store. Customers who spot the bunny and share a photo on social media are in with a chance of winning a chocolate gift pack containing a Belgian chocolate rabbit and orange chocolate carrot.

The Easter hunt is running from Monday 27 March to Saturday 1 April, with a golden bunny hidden in selected stores across the East Midlands.

Customers who don’t win a chocolate rabbit can purchase one in store, with prices ranging from £1.10 for a mini version up to £35 for a giant 1kg bunny.

“Easter is all about families getting together to have fun, so we wanted to put a Birds Bakery twist on the traditional Easter hunt for our customers to get involved in,” said Birds Bakery chief operating officer Lesley Bird.

Birds has unveiled its range of Easter treats, with its bakers set to bake 140,000 of its classic hot cross buns, which it sells in store at £2 for a four pack. The business also supplies a traditional simnel cake that can be bought either as a whole cake for £7.75 or a slice for £2.95.

Cake and biscuit fans aren’t forgotten either, with packs of handcrafted Easter tarts, cupcakes, shortbread rabbits and gingerbread Easter eggs.

“Easter is a time for bringing families together over delicious food - two things that are so important at Birds Bakery,” added Bird. “This Easter we’ve also expanded our range of chocolate available too. As they’re made in our own chocolate room it gives us the opportunity to really have some fun, hence the 1kg giant chocolate rabbit!”

Birds Bakery has 62 stores across the region including Victoria Centre, Coalville, Ashbourne, Alfreton, Mickleover, Wollaton and Beeston.
