AN employment tribunal in Scotland has awarded a bakery worker £5,000 in compensation after he alleged he was forced to quit his job because of bullying.

Thomas Dempsey, a bakery assistant at A&A Bakers of Linwood for six years, claimed that the bakery owner was abusive and intimidating.

He said he quit when his hours of work were abruptly changed.

In a written ruling, the tribunal awarded Dempsey £5,581 saying this change “clearly breached a fundamental term of the contract of employment”.
