Scottish Bakers recognises key members

A selection of bakers have been recognised at the Scottish Bakers Conference, for their service to the Scottish bakery sector.

Life Member Awards were handed to Gordon McGhee, past Scottish Bakers president, Dennis Brown of BFP, and Terry Tredget from Rondo. Keith Houliston of Bakels was also handed an Honorary Member award.

Houliston joined Scottish Bakers in 1981 and was honoured for being “instrumental” in delivering study tours to the Scottish Bakers 40 Group for the association.

McGhee, the past president was recognised for his key role in modernising the Association and significantly increasing its training and range of services offered.

The bakers were handed the awards at the 124th conference, where McGhees Family Bakers of Glasgow was named Scottish Baker of the Year for 2015.
