McVitie’s owner Pladis has named David Murray managing director for the UK and Ireland.
Murray has spent much of his career at PepsiCo, most recently serving as senior vice president and general manager for the company’s global concentrate division, with operations in 11 countries and more than 1,800 employees.
He has also held positions for PepsiCo Europe, including nutrition category general manager, Western Europe and business unit general manager for Tropicana & Quaker in the UK.
“David‘s proven track record, delivering high-impact operational excellence and growth across various geographies and categories, will be an invaluable asset as we continue our strategic transformation,” said Pladis CEO Salman Amin.
“His strong drive for results, passion for building high-performing teams and personal energy shine through his powerful and unique leadership style.”
Murray will report to Amin and will be have direct oversight for UK and Ireland manufacturing operations, research and development, sales and marketing, and responsibility for the region’s financials.

Formed in 2016, Pladis operates brands including McVitie’s, Ulke, Jacob’s, Go Ahead!, Carr’s, Flipz, BN and Verkade. It has 34 factories in 13 countries.
