Entries are open for the Farm Shop & Deli Product Awards 2025, the annual competition that showcases the best products within the specialist food and drink sector.
Running for the fourth successive year, the awards form part of the long-running Farm Shop & Deli Show, which takes place at the UK Food & Drink Shows at the NEC Birmingham from 7-9 April 2025. They are organised in partnership with The Grocer, a sister publication of British Baker under the William Reed portfolio of media brands.
The awards are judged by an expert panel consisting of leading farm shop and deli retailers, prominent wholesaler buyers, and industry professionals, including British Baker editor Amy North and deputy editor Dan Riley.
They are open to products, including sweet and savoury bakery items, which are sold in farm shops, delis, and other specialist food retailers. Entries are accepted in five categories which are:
- Ambient Food & Drink
- Chilled Food & Drink
- Deli / Over the Counter Items
- Frozen Food & Drink
- Non-Food & Drink
Products are not compared to other entries within the same category, they are instead scored on their own merit.
Entries cost £100 and will close on Monday 27 January 2025. They can be submitted via the dedicated Farm Shop & Deli Product Awards website.
“Each year, we are thrilled to present our panel of expert judges with outstanding products from across the independent specialist retail sector, offering brands a unique opportunity to elevate their market presence,” said Giorgio Rigali, head of communications, exhibitions at William Reed.
“We also look forward to welcoming visitors to the Farm Shop & Deli Show in April 2025, where guests can engage with the winning brands and products that will emerge from this years’ awards.”
Several bakery items were awarded gold at the 2024 awards including a Sticky Toffee Slump Cake and Caramel Shortbread made by Cakehead, a sausage roll and plant-based spicy empanada from Jampas, and Orkney Heritage Bere Barley, Chilli & Cheese Oatcakes made by Stockan’s Oatcakes.
