Britain's Best Cake 2025

Britain’s Best Cake 2025: The Chocolate Cake from Wirral-based Abba Cakes

Cake makers have been granted an extra week to submit their prize-worthy creations for British Baker’s Britain’s Best Cake 2026 competition.

The new entry deadline is now Monday 23 February, with live judging and awards presentations taking place on Monday 13 April at the Birmingham NEC as part of the UK Food & Drink Shows 2026.

However, entries are limited meaning you need to get your brilliant brownies, creative celebration cakes, and fabulous fruit cakes entered sooner rather than later.

This has already been seen on stablemate Britain’s Best Loaf 2026 – sponsored by ADM Milling, Fritsch, L&M Parnaby, Matthews Cotswold Flour, and Rademaker – which is now closed for entries having hit maximum capacity.

“We have been bowled over by the success of Britain’s Best Loaf which has continued to go from strength to strength in recent years,” explains British Baker editor Amy North. “The addition of Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals for both competitions last year has certainly piqued interest as more bakeries are coming away with the recognition they deserve for their amazing baked goods.

“Entries on Britain’s Best Cake aren’t far behind, so I’d urge anyone who is thinking of entering to get their entries in ASAP.”
