“This is for my team” and other heartfelt reactions from the Baking Industry Awards 2025

The Baking Industry Awards 2025 were a fitting showpiece to celebrate the wonderful achievements of this incredible sector over the past year.

Taking place on Thursday 23 October at the Royal Lancaster in London, a total of 14 people, products, and businesses triumphed in categories including Team of the Year, Sustainability Initiative of the Year, and Craft Bakery Business of the Year.

Upon receiving their trophies from sponsors and celebrity host Alex Jones, the winners were interviewed to find out what the achievement means.

There was disbelief, excitement, and lots of thanks given to teams, suppliers, and supporters.

The night was rounded off with a special presentation of the Outstanding Contribution to the Baking Industry, which was given to Peter Wenzel, founder of Wenzel’s the Bakers. He was greeted by a huge round of applause, and responded with a touching speech in which he thanks suppliers, staff, and the whole baking industry for the efforts in making it such a wonderful place to work.
