A range of frozen cakes and desserts has been launched by buying and marketing group Caterforce.
Launched under the Chefs’ Selection for Caterforce brand, the 10 new products include a rose and pistachio cake hand-decorated with rose petals, and an ambient-stable triple-tiered red velvet cake. The company said it had designed the range following research into artisan trends in London and Manchester, with the aim of offering a high-end product at a lower price.
The products are being produced for Caterforce by ProperMaid in Huddersfield, Vittles in Leicester and Ministry of Cake in Somerset. They are being sold for between £10-£15 to customers including cafés and themes parks through the company’s eight member foodservice clients, which include Philip Dennis Foodservice and Pilgrim Foodservice.
The complete range of cakes includes:
- Hazelnut Latter Cake
- Raspberry Bakewell Cake
- Pistachio and Rose Cake
- Orange and Almond Cake
- Chocolate Mallow Cake
- Tiramisu Layer Cake
- Classic Red Velvet Cake
- Raspberry and Prosecco White Chocolate Roulade
- Mango, Passionfruit and Coconut Roulade
- Key Lime Meringue Pie
Kelly Orme, group buying manager at Caterforce, said “We are delighted to launch this truly innovative range of cakes and desserts. Together with our partner suppliers, we have shaken up the traditional perception of an own-brand range.”
The cakes went on sale on 5 February and the range launch is to be accompanied by an extensive marketing package including brochure editorials, customer sampling and trade show presentations.
Caterforce works with independent foodservice retailers to combine national buying power with local service. It provides frozen, chilled and grocery products and its own-brand Chefs’ Selection by Caterforce range features more than 300 products.
