Costa has unveiled a raft of new sweet and savoury treats for autumn 2023 including a Hog Roast Toastie, Apple & Blackberry Loaf Cake, and Loaded Flapjack.
The coffee giant has truly embraced autumnal flavours, with warm spices and caramels appearing throughout its sweet bakery range, and its signature flavour of maple hazelnut back on the menu.
“We’re excited to bring customers our new food and drink menu,” said Naomi Matthews, food innovation director UK & Ireland at Costa Coffee. “It’s great to have the much-loved Maple Hazel range returning for fall, as well as the launch of some mouth-watering savoury and sweet additions.”
“We’re proud to be supporting Macmillan for the second year running, and hope that the donations made through the sale of our Macmillan range can make a huge difference to those living or impacted by cancer through the amazing work of Macmillan,” she added.
Take a closer look at the new and returning items on Costa’s menu here:
Hog Roast Toastie
New for 2023 is the Hog Roast Toastie packed with hickory pulled pork with spiced apple glaze and caramelised onion chutney. The toastie is finished with sage & garlic stuffing and melted oak-smoked cheddar, and then topped with a cheesy garlic and herb bloomer bread.
Nacho Chilli Cheese & Chicken Toastie
Another warming addition to the savoury line-up, this toastie features British roast chicken, fiery Mexicana cheese, and spicy jalapeños, drizzled with gooey cheese sauce and served on cheese and tortilla chip-topped bloomer bread.
Apple & Blackberry Loaf Cake
Described as moist and fluffy, this cake is loaded with apples and blackberries, sprinkled with a crunchy crumble, and finished with a drizzle of pretty pink fondant.
Chocolate & Salted Caramel Cake
Returning for the season is this cake comprising layered chocolate sponge filled with salted caramel and chocolate frostings, topped with dark chocolate curls, fudge pieces, and drizzled with caramel.
Loaded Flapjack
This buttery flapjack is loaded with cranberries, sultanas, almonds, sunflower and pumpkin seeds, before being finished with a sweet yoghurt drizzle.
Maple Hazelnut range
Costa has brought back its maple hazelnut range, with the flavour an option across its line-up of hot drinks including lattes, hot chocolate, and frappe to name a few.
The flavour has also ventured into its baked goods with a Maple Hazelnut Muffin and Maple Hazelnut Blondie also returning. The muffin is filled with maple sauce and topped with icing and a cocoa confectionery decoration in the shape of a leaf. The blondie, meanwhile, is infused with maple flavour and speckled with hazelnuts. It’s finished with a white chocolate and maple syrup topping and edible decorations.
Macmillan Cancer Support Coffee Morning range
For a second year running, Costa Coffee is a joint headline partner of Macmillan Cancer Support’s Coffee Morning, helping to raise crucial funds to support people living with cancer through the sale of three treats to the autumn menu. Costa will donate 20p from the sale of each item to the charity.
These treats are the Macmillan Chocolate Muffin, which is filled with a sweet sauce, topped with frosting, and finished with chocolate buttons, the Macmillan Carrot & Walnut Cake, and the new Macmillan Iced Shortcake Biscuit with coloured fondant icing on top.
