Wholegrain Banana Pancake Bites made with regeneratively sourced flour from Wildfarmed have been unveiled by Griddle Bakery.
The company’s latest frozen bakery NPD launches in Ocado on 9 November and Tesco in Spring 2027, with a pack (rsp: £3.79) containing around 30 mini pancakes.
With a recipe that includes Wildfarmed wholegrain flour, banana purée and eggs, the bite-sized pancakes are designed for breakfast, snacking, and busy family routines, noted Griddle. They can be heated straight from frozen by microwaving for 25 seconds, air-frying for three-and-a-half minutes, or pan-frying.
The collaboration between Griddle and Wildfarmed was borne from them both joining the Tesco Accelerator Programme last year, and is said to reflect their shared ambitions to make quality, convenient bakery products using simple ingredients and more considered farming practices.
“We know our community loves pancakes, so we wanted to bring it to the table in a new and exciting way,” commented Sophie McGregor, who co-founded Griddle with Ella Harland in 2021. “These easy-to-eat bites bring a bit of extra fun, and less faff to a childhood favourite, whilst staying true to our ethos of nutritional values and kitchen cupboard ingredients. It’s a win for active lives with or without children.”
Co-founder Harland said that working with Wildfarmed helped highlight how much they could do collectively to create a better bakery system – from removing preservatives to reducing waste and also protecting farmers and the supply chain. “It’s easy to think of it as a luxury, that we will always have wheat and bakery products available, but that won’t be the case if we don’t respect our agricultural system,” she added.
Griddle Bakery uses flash-freezing technology shortly after baking to help preserve freshness while allowing shoppers to enjoy bakery products at their convenience. Earlier this year, it launched a branding refresh along with Brioche French Toast. At the Baking Industry Awards 2026, the bakery brand and the new product have been named finalists in respective categories.
