Spar has launched two limited-edition cake products ahead of the Easter holidays.
The national convenience store business has developed a four-pack of cupcakes, as well as a six-pack of chocolate crispy cakes, both of which are be priced at £1 and landed on shelves on 7 March.
Spar has been using point-of-sale, in-store radio and online activity to support the launch of the two new bakery products.
Susan Darbyshire, brand director at Spar, said: “Our own-brand range is growing and improving in quality continually, and customers are buying into the Spar brand more than ever, as they can see it offers them great value, quality products benchmarked against our key competitors.
“The limited-edition cake range forms an integral part of our strategy as it changes with each event and creates interest in-store. Furthermore, the price-marked packs are a great way to catch consumers’ attention as they browse the shelf, and we know they help our retailers boost sales of Spar brand products.”
Spar revealed that its own-brand range of limited cakes has generated sales of more than £250,000 since launching last summer.
