Subway has launched a new limited-edition mango chicken as part of its reinvigorated lunch option.

The mango chicken option will be available in the brand’s The Subway Lunch from today for eight weeks on a sub, flatbread or salad with any regular drink for £3. The launch ties in with the Subway’s ‘My Sub, My Way’ slogan.

Recommended as being best served cold, the new flavour on a sub or flatbread contains one of the recommended five portions of fruit and vegetables a day. As a salad, it contains two portions.

Other options include big beef melt, veggie delite, chicken tikka, ham, Italian BMT, meatball marinara, spicy Italian, tuna, turkey breast and ham and turkey breast.

The range of breads used to make subs provide calcium and vitamin D, containing 28% of the recommended daily allowance for calcium, and 27% of the recommended daily allowance for vitamin D per six-inch serving. The 9-Grain wheat bread and the 9-Grain honey oat bread are also high in fibre, containing at least 6g per 100g.

Commenting on the launch, Manaaz Akhtar, head of marketing for Subway in the UK and Ireland, said: “We are constantly looking at ways to improve our existing menu and provide our customers with new and exciting options that tempt not only their taste buds but their wallets too.

“With great value for money now a crucial deciding factor in any purchase, we are delighted to announce the addition of the mango chicken to The Subway Lunch as it represents what the Subway brand has always been about - choice, taste and value.”
