Bakers have scared up a host of ghoulish goodies for customers to get their teeth into. Or fangs. Or claws.

Ghostbusters-themed doughnuts, monstrous muffins, and spooky sponge cakes are among the latest tasty and terrifying treats conjured for Halloween 2024.

It’s British Baker’s second spooktacular round-up of treats for the occasion, with cheesecakes, cupcakes, and brownies unveiled earlier in the season.

Here we take a look at just a few more of the spooktacular treats to help Brits get into the Halloween spirit.

Trick or Treat Bakewell Tart

Orange icing tarts, The Bakewell Tart Shop

The Bakewell Tart Shop, which describes itself as the owner of the only original Bakewell Tart recipe, has conjured up a spooky orange iced tart for Halloween.

Limited numbers of its Happy Halloween, Trick or Treat and Spider’s Web iced Bakewell Tarts are available from the shop, which is based in Bakewell, Derbyshire.

The shop follows the original century-old recipe that it says only two people currently have access to. The tarts use a pastry shell, a layer of raspberry jam, ground almonds, a frangipane mix, and are topped with icing and a cherry. The recipe creates a ‘wet mix’ that means the tarts are moister than ones found elsewhere.
