Bread Ahead is to open a new bakery and café in Soho, London, next year.
Opening on the 5 January, the new 60-cover site, designed in collaboration with creative and strategy expert Lisa Helmanis, will be located on Beak Street in Soho.
Bread Ahead approached Helmanis, who runs the design agency Day Studio, to help convert what was once an old stable into a new site.
The fixtures and fittings include a turquoise interior and pink marble-topped counters with brassy features, as well as high bentwood stools. The back of the site will feature a seating area described by the bakery as “an indulgent spot for a long, relaxing lunch”.
The bakery will be open six days a week from 7am until 7pm and close at 10pm on Sundays. It will offer its signature selection of breads, pastries and classic bakes, alongside hot breakfast and a new menu of savoury lunch dishes.
Bread Ahead founder Matthew Jones opened the first bakery in Borough Market in 2013 before opening the Bakery School in 2014. He opened its second Bakery and School at Pavilion Road, Chelsea, last year and launched a winter residency in Mayfair in November 2017.
