Glasgow-based pie and pastry manufacturer Pars Foods is set to open a £1.2m production site with up to 25 jobs created.
The new 14,500 sq ft facility adds to its existing 15,500 sq ft bakery, located just a few hundred yards away on Balmore Industrial Estate. The expansion move is aimed at meeting the exceptional demand for its Pie Sports brand, noted the company, which has experienced strong growth across retail and foodservice channels.

Pie Sports is said to have become a branded success story in Scotland over the past year, securing substantial new listings with major retailers including Aldi, Lidl, and Scotmid Co-op as well as being sold at Scottish football clubs like Falkirk, St Mirren, Partick Thistle, and St. Johnstone.
Its range includes Scotch pies (classic and vegan), Steak & Gravy Pies, Macaroni Cheese Pies, Steak, Blaggis & Peppercorn Sauce Pies, Steak & Sausage Pies, Salt & Chilli Chicken Pies, and Chicken Chasni Pies. Its Kebab Pie won a Diamond award in the Football Pie & Savoury category at last year’s World Championship Scotch Pie Awards.
Pars Foods produced over 80,000 pies alone for British Pie Week 2026 (2 to 8 March). It is expecting to triple production capacity for the Pie Sports brand with its new site, which is set to become fully operational within the next four to six weeks. Between 20 and 25 new positions in production are to be recruited.
In addition to making pies, the new bakery will also help produce puff pastry and items for the company’s Fill n’ Bake frozen pastry range including sweet tart cases for foodservice operators.

“This new factory marks an important milestone in our growth,” commented Pars Foods owner Brian Sarafilovic, who founded the firm in 1998. “Demand for Pie Sports has exceeded all expectations, and this investment ensures we can continue to scale responsibly while maintaining the quality our customers expect.
“We are proud to strengthen our operations here in Scotland and excited for the next chapter of our business,” he added.
Lesley Cameron, CEO of trade body Scottish Bakers, expressed that it was fantastic to see one of its member’s businesses going from strength to strength. “The opening of this new facility is a clear sign of confidence in Scotland’s bakery sector and will create valuable jobs in a highly skilled and much-loved industry,” she said.
