Staff at Fox’s Biscuits fought against proposed changes to their terms of employment last week.

Ian Wood, organising regional secretary for the Bakers, Food and Allied Workers’ Union, told British Baker that around 800 employees from the firm’s Batley and Kirkham manufacturing sites part of the 2 Sisters Food Group had already voted in favour of strike action over proposed changes to terms and conditions, but would be balloted again following a counter-offer from the biscuit firm.

A company spokesperson said: “We’re continuing to discuss a negotiated settlement with unions and employee representatives, with a very attractive and amended two-year offer now on the table a 3% pay award this year and 2.5% next year.”

As BB went to press, employees were due to find out the result of the workplace ballot, which closed on 18 October.
