The high street coffee chain has confirmed it will be opening the two new Somerset stores by April.

The openings will create between eight and ten jobs.

A Costa spokesman said: "The stores will be run by one of our franchise partners, a local businessperson to the area, who will do all that they can to integrate the new store with the local community, getting involved with events; providing the store as a meeting place and helping with fundraising."

As reported in its recent full year update, expansion continues apace for Costa, both for stores and for its Costa Express machines, of which there are already over 5,000, with a further 1,000 planned this year.

For its new stores, the operator is increasingly opting for locations away from traditional high streets, with travel hubs, drive-throughs and retail park sites set to account for the majority of openings over 2016/17.
