Bread Ahead bakery and school is set to open a third retail outlet in Seven Dials, London and is expected to announce a fourth imminently.

The site is set to open today (Monday 10 October) and will specialise in doughnuts, focaccia, sourdough bread and savoury filled brioche buns.

Matt Jones, co-founder of the business and bakery school, had already revealed his intentions to expand his bakery after telling British Baker last year that he would like to open up four well-placed sites in central London by the end of this year.

The bakery first opened in Borough Market in 2013 and supplies a host of restaurants and delis throughout London.

This followed the launch of the bakery school, which focuses on traditional baking and pastry skills for established bakers and amateurs.

The bakery opened up its second outlet last year in Westfield Stratford after investing around £40k in the 500sq ft site.

British Baker’s sister title MCA understands that the group is working on plans for an additional bakery and baking school, as well as a shake-up at its Borough Market.
