North Yorkshire ingredients manufacturer Pecan Deluxe Candy is to spend £3m on an ambitious European expansion programme.
The business, part of a Texas-based family company, has announced investment and expansion plans for 2017 that include an international rebranding and a collaboration with its Asia-Pacific region.
The company specialises in development and supply of bespoke ingredients to bakery, ice cream, dessert, breakfast and snack industries, as well as other market sectors.
Graham Kingston, MD of the company’s Europe and Asia-Pacific regions, said: “Pecan Deluxe is investing heavily in infrastructure, facilities and staff in order to consolidate the company’s reputation as a global ‘food tailor’, creating custom-engineered solutions according to localised tastes and legislation.”
The company has operations across the US, Europe and the Far East, and around 250 employees. It is also investing in a major upgrade development programme, which is says is needed to tailor its products to new flavours and trends.
It acquired the Harriet Webster factory in Yorkshire in 2000, marking its launch into Europe, and will now be investing over the next 18 months as it looks to expand.
