St John Bakery opens pop-up at Old Street Station

St John Bakery has opened a temporary site at Old Street station in London.

Operating until 2 March, the site will serve a variety of baked goods, such as pastries, bread and doughnuts, to commuters throughout the day. It will be open Monday to Friday from 7am to 7:30pm.

St John Bakery was opened by Fergus Henderson and Trevor Gulliver in Smithfield in 1994, and has since opened another bakery on Druid Street in Bermondsey in 2010, as well as the St John Bread and Wine unit.

“We like to pop up in areas where people can’t usually find our bread and pastries,” Gulliver told British Baker.

“This is what we did with our three-month residency in Bermondsey Street, which really opened our eyes to the possibilities, and now we are happy to do more.”
