Scottish pie and pastry manufacturer Bells has expanded its senior team with four new appointments.
Two third-generation family members – David M Bell and Samantha Murray – have been promoted to the firm’s board.
Bell, who has worked in the business for more than 30 years, has been appointed logistics director.
Murray has been named finance director following 11 years at Bells. This is a role that both her grandfather and father have held at the firm.
Meanwhile, Gordon Smith, who joined Bells in 2015 and has more than 20 years’ experience in the food and drink industry, has been appointed sales and marketing director, where he will continue to develop the firm’s brand.
In addition, Debbie Briody, previously with Highland Spring, is joining the senior team as group operations director. A chartered chemical engineer, she has 25 years’ experience in manufacturing.
“We are delighted with our new senior appointments and they signify a real step-change for the business, as we build capacity and expertise at a senior level to continue our ambitious expansion and innovation plans,” said managing director Ronnie Miles.
Established in 1931 by Donald Bell, Bell’s currently employs more than 220 people across three sites in Scotland. It has an annual turnover of around £18.5m.
