Food distribution charity FareShare has announced its partnership with recently launched food-to-go brand Honest Crust.
Honest Crust is donating £50,000 to FareShare over the next 12 months, which the charity said would enable it to redistribute 200,000 meals to vulnerable people across the UK.
The food-to-go brand, which launched last month September and is manufactured by Samworth Brothers, will run a range of campaigns focused on encouraging consumers to give their time by volunteering, fundraising or sharing the work FareShare does through social media. The partnership will also be communicated on Honest Crust packaging.
“We’re delighted to be partnering with FareShare on the Honest Crust brand,” said Alastair Johns, brand development manager at Honest Crust.
“The Samworth Brothers Group has been supplying FareShare with excess product from manufacture for several years, but we thought there was more we could do to support such a great cause.”
Lindsay Boswell, chief executive at FareShare UK, said the partnership offered exciting opportunities.
“We love all of the food companies we work with, but Honest Crust is really going above and beyond our expectations by supporting us in so many ways,” she added. “We rely heavily on volunteers, and the support from Honest Crust in highlighting this need to their consumers is fantastic.”
