Ben & Jerry’s has launched a new ice cream sandwich and layered ice cream cake as part of its Christmas line-up.
The seasonal menu, which is available at the Ben & Jerry’s Scoop Shop, Soho, until the end of the year, comprises three specials with a festive twist:
- The Glitz-Wich (pictured): Ben & Jerry’s ice cream nestled between chocolate orange cookies from Luminary Bakery, topped with edible gold glitter
- The Snow Dude: A combination of two ice-cream flavours on a fudge brownie base, topped with a whipped cream frosting bobble hat and cone-nose. Serves 8-10.
- The Cosy Caramel: A salted caramel hot chocolate (made with Double Caramel Brownie ice cream), served in a chocolate dipped cup, topped with whipped cream and festive sprinkles
The launches come as interest grows in ice cream sandwiches. The annual Food to Go Report from Waitrose noted ice cream as “having a moment” and “entering a new era of Insta-friendly indulgence”.
Macaron ice cream sandwich vendor Yolkin opened its first bricks-and-mortar site after successes as a pop-up shop, and Ben & Jerry’s launched a limited-edition duo of ice cream bagels into its Soho store earlier this year.
