Ginsters of Cornwall has partnered with meat-free brand Quorn to launch the Ginsters Vegan Quorn Pasty.
Ginsters said the NPD adapted the brand’s signature Cornish Pasty to use 100% vegan ingredients. It contains Quorn pieces combined with locally sourced potato, onion and swede and is encased in puff pastry.
The pasty launched yesterday (22 September) at grocery retailers nationwide, with an rrp of £1.80.
“Across savoury pastry, vegetarian products are driving category growth as consumers swap at least one meal each week for a meat-free alterative.
“Pre-family shoppers are an instrumental force behind this shift, so we want to work with retailers and partners to offer more variety and embrace the plant-based surge,” said Kieran Hemsworth, managing director at Ginsters.
“We have also found most vegetarian and vegan products cater to the take-home meal occasion. The Ginsters Vegan Quorn Pasty is a flexible meal-in-one, for lunch or dinner; deep-filled with the distinctive Ginsters taste and Quorn pieces.”
The brand has been rolling out a multitude of vegan and vegetarian NPD of late. Earlier this year it launched its Vegan Moroccan Vegetable Pasty, and also added vegetarian pasties to its Bitesize range.
