Caffè Ritazza revamp

SSP is looking to redesign the look and operations of its Caffè Ritazza coffee shops, based at transport hubs. This will include the planning and interior design of its cafés, and the way products are packaged, displayed and served.

Aromatic move

Two of Aromatic’s UK staff will join parent firm British Bakels as part of an integration plan due for completion by the end of March 2012. General manager Stephen Smith and technical sales manager David Perkins will join the bakery ingredients company, following its purchase of Swedish firm Aromatic AB in December last year.

Virgin order

Sunderland-based Baked Cupcakery had a welcome boost to business with an order for 2,000 cupcakes from Virgin Money. The home-based business, which opened in October last year, supplied cupcakes to celebrate Virgin’s official launch into high street banking this month.

Mentoring contest

Chalk Hills Bakery has won Surrey’s Local Business Accelerators competition. Run by local newspapers, the nationwide competition aims to help promising fledgling firms with professional support from a local business mentor. The overall winner will receive mentoring from Dragon’s Den star Deborah Meaden.
