Shoppers will soon be able to pay for purchases with their mobile phones, using new technology.
Contactless payment is already used by some sandwich and coffee chains, such as Pret A Manger and Coffee Republic where customers wave a card in front of a terminal, but they would now be able to pay using their phone.
YESpay, a global card payments service company, has already launched its YESpay-Wallet service for web-based card payments, where retailers let customers create accounts so they can make card payments on their websites.
These customers can now download the free YESpay-Wallet Mobile App; using this, customers can pay with their smartphone by selecting one of their credit/debit or virtual cards in their electronic wallet, holding their mobile in front of a scanner on the counter-top and scanning the card mobile app’s on-screen bar code to make a purchase.
