Bramhall Bakery has received the support of Theo Paphitis of BBC One’s Dragons’ Den on social media website Twitter.

Joanne Peters, director at the Stockport-based artisan bakery, tweeted the business entrepreneur last Sunday (3 March) about her business during ‘Small Business Sunday’, a weekly initiative set up by Paphitis, which was retweeted to his more than 300,000 online followers.

As a result, Bramhall Bakery received over 100 more followers on its dedicated Twitter account in just a few hours, as well as the company being profiled on the website www.theopaphitissbs.com, which is exclusive to winners of the Small Business Sunday scheme.

Peters said: “We are a small start-up business with big ideas about building an innovative business around high-quality bread. We have been in business for 10 months and have been going from strength to strength. This boost from Theo will help us move the business to the next level.”

Bramhall Bakery launched last May as an independent family-owned business and produces a number of sweet and savoury breads.

Peters added: “Ten months down the track, business is going well, with 10 employees including a full-time baker and apprentice baker, and we are now recruiting for a second apprentice. Not only are we creating employment but also building an artisan skill base.”
