European Process Plant (EPP) has become the exclusive distributor of dosing and filling technology specialist Ova Projects in the UK and Ireland.

The Spanish equipment manufacturer adds to EPP’s portfolio of automated solutions, enhancing options for depositing, injecting, and decorating bakery products such as pizzas, sandwiches, doughnuts, pastries, buns, muffins, brownies, and cakes. It also offers complete lines as turnkey solutions.

“Ova Projects is an innovative company working continuously to develop optimal automated solutions to support bakers, delivering reliability, consistency and efficiency,” says Steve Merritt, EPP managing director.

“The team is enthusiastic, creative, and committed to solving challenges with its unique expertise, which is why we’re looking forward to working with them. They share our values and our purpose of helping the British Isles to eat better, and we’re excited to bring its technologies to bakers of the UK and Ireland.”

With years of experience in the food industry, Ova Projects’ founders established the business in 2008 in the city of Vic, around 45 miles north of Barcelona. Continued growth saw it move to a larger production facility in 2015 before it invested in a new factory in 2022 to double its floorspace.

Ova Projects solutions are available immediately in the UK and Ireland from EPP, with products and lines being available to test at its test bakery in Barcelona.

Last October, Epsom-based EPP became the exclusive distributor for two different European equipment manufacturers. It announced a partnership with Danish tunnel ovens supplier Senius and then another one with German frying technology specialist Jufeba.

Investments in new equipment, supplied by EPP, were made by UK bakeries in 2024 to enhance production capacity and quality and improve efficiency. These included Wong Wong Bakery, which added a two-pocket Koenig Mini Rex dough divider and rounder to its site in Manchester’s Chinatown, and Scottish firm Mathiesons, which installed a new VMI Mixer.
