Unifiller Systems has announced the launch of the Electro-Mate automated cake shell border decorating system.

The equipment manufacturer said it designed the product to help boost productivity for bakeries with growing production volumes.

The Electro-Mate is compatible with the Deco-Mate, making it suitable for Unifiller customers who wish to expand the Deco-Mate’s applications or for those seeking an interface to simplify operator use, the company added.

The new product features an onboard computer that enables operators to fine-tune settings and save recipes, with the manufacturer looking to offer faster machine setup and consistent results with minimal training required.

“Deco-Mate with Electro-Mate automates the shell bordering of round and sheet cakes for easier application, without injury or strain to the worker,” said Sonia Bal, director of marketing at Unifiller Systems.

“Automated equipment, especially machines designed specifically with ergonomics in mind, are an excellent solution for protecting businesses from labour shortages that result from employees working in discomfort and sustaining injuries, if not burnout,” Bal added. “The Deco-Mate with Electro-Mate automates the process of applying borders to cakes by eliminating the need to repeatedly squeeze a pastry bag.”
