Prime Minister David Cameron received a pile of letters from some key members of the baking industry on Friday (6 February), following his decision to give up bread.
With wrapped bread sales down 5.7% this January, according to figures from Kantar Worldpanel, British Baker has taken it upon themselves to help boost the buzz around the loaf with a #WeLoveBread campaign.
After Friday’s visit to Downing Street, reaction and involvement on social media took off. Here’s a round-up of what the industry had to say.
While the visit is over, the campaign does not stop here. Keep tweeting us @BritishBaker with anything exciting you are baking, or organising that involves bread. And don’t forget to hashtag #WeLoveBread.
