National Doughnut Week 2026 will take place from 16 to 24 May next year, organisers have revealed.
The annual fundraising event – sponsored by CSM Ingredients – encourages retail and foodservice businesses including bakeries, cafés, bistros, and delis to create and sell special-edition doughnuts during the week, with a portion of proceeds donated towards a charitable cause.
As with previous years, the funds generated in 2026 will be channelled to The Children’s Trust, the UK’s leading charity for children and families affected by brain injury.
Since its launch in 1992, National Doughnut Week has raised almost £1.2m of which £672k has been donated directly to The Children’s Trust. The organisation says that 40,000 children in the UK are left with a brain injury each year as a result of an accident or illness. Many face ongoing, long-term difficulties, so it aims to provide specialist rehabilitation, education, and community services to help them live the best life possible, whilst offering their families the support and information they need.
“Every year the baking industry commits to this fantastic cause and the creativity and energy that went into 2025 was fantastic to see,” commented CSM Ingredients UK & Ireland general manager James Dedman. “We are delighted to once again be supporting the week in 2026 and helping bakers even raise more dough.”
The most recent edition held last May helped raise around £40k. Christopher Freeman, co-owner of Dunns Bakery in north London who founded the initiative 33 years ago, said he was “hugely grateful to the UK baking industry for its fantastic support” this year.
“The impressive amount raised is a real testament to the creativity, hard work of bakers across the country and huge thank you goes out to everyone who took part and produced such amazing doughnuts. We’re already looking forward to 2026 – don’t forget to sign up and be part of another incredible week,” added Freeman.
Interested parties can sign up to participate in the week-long celebration via the dedicated website. All administration costs are covered by CSM Ingredients.
