Northern supermarket Booths has revamped its bakery range with 28 lines added, including gourmet doughnuts, filled cookies, traybakes, and more.
The line-up comprises a mix of classic baked goods, such as Millionaire’s Shortbread, Chocolate Brownies, and Fondant Fancies, as well as on-trend options such as Tiramisu Filled Cookies, Caramelised Biscuit Doughnuts, and Raspberry & White Chocolate Croissant (see full list below).
Premium indulgence is at the heart of the offer with prices ranging from £1.50 to £3 per item.
The products sit on the retailer’s loose bakery tables to help create a “much more varied and visually impactful offer” for customers.
“The main driver was to make our loose bakery tables feel more premium, exciting and inspiring for customers,” Booths product developer Martin Wolstenholme told British Baker. “We wanted to increase the visual impact of the tables, introduce more indulgent products, and give customers more choice across different formats and price points.
“We also wanted to create more of a sense of theatre around our bakery offer, making the tables something customers would notice, explore and ultimately want to buy from.”
Indulgence remains a key driver for new and existing sweet bakery products. Just last month convenience retailer Co-op reformulated its in-store bakery cookie range, making the treats bigger, adding more chocolate and more butter, and baking for less time for a softer eat. Tesco also unveiled a trio of Rolled & Loaded Buns that are generously swirled with a flavoured filling and then loaded with icing. M&S has also leaned into topped and filled baked goods with its Dunked ‘N’ Loaded Doughnuts, Cookie Cups, and Chunked ‘N’ Loaded Cookies.
