Frozen food distributor Central Foods has boosted its Katerbake range of flavoured wraps for foodservice with a new spinach variant.
The spinach NPD joins the pumpkin and beetroot wraps which were launched in late 2017 to meet demand for healthier options. All three wraps are suitable for vegans and are a source of fibre.
“Our KaterBake pumpkin wraps and KaterBake beetroot wraps have been a great success with foodservice professionals, for their taste, looks, appeal and versatility,” said Central Foods MD Gordon Lauder.
“We have now extended the range of wraps offered by Central Foods to include the KaterBake spinach wrap – a vibrant 12-inch flavoured wrap which will provide a colourful addition to the menu.”
The spinach wraps, like the other ones, can be defrosted and served or warmed in an oven or microwave before serving, and have a defrosted shelf-life of two days. They are available to order in two packs of 20.
In November, research by Spitalfields Market in London revealed that wraps and flatbreads had ousted sandwiches at lunch.
“There’s very good reason why wraps and flatbreads are so popular now,” added Lauder. “Not only do they provide a really tasty carrier for a world of flavours, they are also versatile, easy to prepare and can be served at a range of meal occasions.”
