Gluten-free bakery Foodamentalists is to sell mince pies with a difference, as it brings it products to local festive markets.
Selling its products at Christmas markets in Knutsford in Cheshire and Spinningfields in Manchester, the bakery will be producing mince pies with a light frangipane topping, instead of the traditional pastry lid. In addition they are gluten-, wheat-, dairy- and soya-free.
Its Christmas range also featured a pork, venison and cranberry pie, made with hot water pastry, as well as a cranberry and herb stuffing mix, which are also free from gluten, wheat, dairy and soya.
Stevan Taylor, managing director, Foodamentalist, said: “People following a restricted diet shouldn’t have to miss out at any time of year, but especially at Christmas when food plays a large part in the celebrations.”
The business, founded in 2008, revealed this summer that Selfridges would be stocking its gluten- and wheat-free pies.
