Meg Rivers Artisan Bakery has launched a range of mail order wedding cakes that give the happy couple the option of a DIY approach.
The cakes are each two-tiers, and can be supplied with white, purple or pink sugarcraft roses for customers to place on with edible glue, or are supplied plain for the customer to decorate with their own toppers, keepsakes or fresh flowers, the manufacturer said.
“A special day deserves a special cake and at Meg Rivers we felt it was time for a no-nonsense, DIY wedding cake offering,” said Julian Day, managing director, Meg Rivers Artisan Bakery Ltd.
They are each made to the business’ Great Taste Award-winning fruit cake recipe, which includes local free-range eggs, vine fruits and French brandy, and are finished with marzipan and a layer of sugarpaste.
The cakes are available now at £80 for the plain cake and £90 for cakes with sugarcraft roses.
