Pizza bites shaped like mountains, Scottish-themed pies and cheese-filled pastries have been unveiled by bakery brands.

There’s also some snackable bagels to cater to breakfasts at the office, and a classic chicken & mushroom pie recipe now packed into a tin.

The bagel specialist, which operates seven shops across London, has expanded its catering service with the introduction of mini-bagel platters. Created for office breakfasts, meetings, training days, events and brunches, the platters feature bite-sized versions of the brand’s bestselling bagels such as Smoke Salmon & Cream Cheese, Egg Mayo, Salt Beef, and Chicken Avocado.

In addition, B Bagel has extended its catering range to cover breakfast, including breakfast bagels, mini pastries, sweet-pot platters (fresh fruit, yoghurt, granola etc), and freshly squeezed juices. It is also offering same day catering for offices in the capital.

“We’re seeing a real shift in what companies expect from catering partners,” commented B Bagel commercial director Ilan Grunfeld. “Flexibility, reliability and quality are non-negotiable – and that’s exactly what we’re delivering with these new additions.”

The pie and pasty supplier based in Ottery St. Mary has cooked up a “bold, boisterous, and gloriously unapologetic” new limited-edition product: the Steak & Haggis Pie.

It comprises tender British steak, peppery haggis, and a gravy laced with Dartmoor Whisky – a single malt aged in ex-bourbon casks – all wrapped up in Chunk of Devon’s signature golden, shortcrust pastry.

Aiming to bring some serious Highland swagger to Burns Night gatherings this year (Sunday 25 January), the pies are available exclusively via the company’s online shop (rsp: £47.60, box of eight).

After launching a range of pizzelle (dough bites) last summer, London-based Italian food brand Crosta Mollica has continued the treat-sized innovation with new Vesuvio Pizza Bites. Available in the frozen aisles at Tesco and Sainsbury’s (rsp: £4.75, 270g), they come in two variants: Margherita, made with rich pomodoro sauce and creamy mozzarella, and Salami, layered with premium smoked salami.

The bites are handcrafted and stone-baked at a site close to Naples – the ‘spiritual home of pizza’ – within view of the famous Mount Vesuvius, which has informed both their name and their shape. “The range has been such a triumph across European retailers that bringing it to the UK felt like a natural next step,” said Dean Lavender, marketing director at Crosta Mollica.

Mac & Cheese and Chicken & Mushroom Pies, Fray Bentos

Pie brand Fray Bentos, owned by Baxters Food Group, has added two new recipes to its tinned pie portfolio.

The Mac & Cheese Pie takes inspiration from the Scottish bakery classic, and features macaroni in a rich cheese sauce, topped with the firm’s signature 64-layer golden puff pastry. Meanwhile, the Chicken & Mushroom Pie also joins the core range, comprised of chicken, mushrooms, and a creamy sauce.

Both pies are available at Tesco, Sainsbury’s, and B&M stores nationwide (rsp: £2.99). “It’s all about giving shoppers more choice, more flavour, and more reasons to reach for a Fray Bentos tin. And of course value matters,” said brand manager Jude Smart.

Following five months of successful trials with several large wholesale partners, Swindon-based supplier Pipp & Co has launched two new vegetarian savoury pastries for distribution to foodservice operators such as cafés, delis, farm shops, and caterers.

The Cheddar, Cream Cheese & Chive Pinwheels are hand-laminated brioche Danishes rolled with mature cheddar, smooth cream cheese, and fresh chives – finished with a golden cheddar top. The Spinach & Feta Diamonds are golden, flaky brioche pastries filled with creamy feta and tender spinach.

The bakery noted that premium vegetarian options were currently in high demand, with its new products made from scratch in small batches without the use of preservatives. The pastries are supplied fresh but can be frozen upon delivery for convenience and waste reduction purposes.

Bodmin-based manufacturer Proper Cornish accompanied the 2026 launch of its Sweet Apple & Cinnamon Pasty with an extension to its Proper Chunky Rolls range.

The new Proper Chunky Cheese & Pickle Roll as described as bursting with Cheddar, Red Leicester, and full-fat soft cheese, generously layered with tangy sweet pickle, and finished with an Italian-style hard cheese topping.

Proper Cornish said the vegetarian variety was perfect for consumers who love the trending mix of sweet and savoury flavours.
