Bread Holdings, parent company of Gail’s and artisan baker The Bread Factory, has opened the first permanent site for its sourdough brand The Flour Station.
The new all-day café in London’s Camden Market will offer baked goods throughout the day, such as breakfast sharing platters and lunch options. Chris Honor, best known for fresh food restaurant and café business Chriskitch, will be supplying salads.
The sourdough brand began in 2002 in the kitchen of Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen restaurant before expanding to eight different markets across London.
It supplies restaurants, hotels, food halls and delis and is known for its stalls at London’s Borough, Wimbledon, Parliament Hill and Queens Park markets.
“We’re thrilled to be bringing your daily bread to Camden, where we’ll be opening our first permanent market café," said The Flour Station on its website. "We’ll be freshly baking on site and serving up our signature sourdoughs alongside some of the very best market produce in London.”
In August, The Flour Station’s English muffin made the top 50 Foods shortlist at the Great Taste Awards.
