British Bakels has revealed the first new products for Renshaw since it acquired the brand two years ago.

Food colourings, metallic paints, sprinkles and fruit fillings are being added to the Renshaw line-up for the first time, while the brand’s chocolate modelling paste has been relaunched with a new recipe.

The launch is an “exciting milestone for the Renshaw brand”, said James Cawthorne, managing director of Bakels, which acquired Renshaw in December 2023 after owner Real Good Food entered administration.

“It is the beginning of an innovation pipeline that has been developed by listening to our customers and leveraging the global expertise of the Bakels Group,” he added.

The five launches, which roll out from November are:

  • Colours: eight water-based and eight oil-based food colouring shades. Available in 20g bottles or in multipacks of five
  • Metallic Paints: eight shades of food paint with a highly lustred and glittery finish for adding a premium touch to cakes and edible decorations. Available as an individual 20g bottle or in a multipack of five
  • Sprinkles: in four varieties to add texture and fun
  • Fruit Fillings: made with real fruit, these premium fruit fillings are suitable for drizzling over cakes, layering into sponge, and mixing into buttercream. They are available in Cherry, Strawberry and Blueberry
  • Chocolate modelling paste: this is returning to market in White Chocolate and Milk Chocolate with a new recipe made with real chocolate.

“Renshaw is a brand that is clearly loved by all bakers and has an incredibly loyal following,” said Cawthorne. “These new ranges are designed to bring the brand’s expertise to all areas of the cake decorating process, providing products that not only perform but that taste great too.”

Headquartered in Liverpool, Renshaw was established in 1898 and is best known for its ready-to-roll icing, marzipan, frostings, caramels and mallows
