Starbucks has launched a new range of bread-free lunch options in a bid to broaden its food offering.

The bread-free Starbucks Bistro Boxes all come in at under 500 calories and include chicken and rice noodle, cured ham hock and cheese and oat cake. The range has been tailored to customer needs based on health, allergy or taste preferences.

Brian Waring, vice-president of marketing and category for Starbucks UK and Ireland, told Marketing Week magazine: “We believe it is really important that our customers have a wide range of tasty food that complements our great coffee when they visit us.

“They told us they wanted different food options, such as more bread-free products, which is why the Bistro Boxes are so on-trend.”

Starbucks recently dropped the word ‘coffee’ from its logo to broaden its appeal as a food a drink supplier.
