Asda has launched a board-game inspired cake, less than a week after board game biscuits featured on The Great British Bake Off.
The Crash Cake, which takes inspiration from popular 1970s board game Kerplunk, features ribbons to pull, with one causing a cascade of sweets to come crashing down.
It comes in two flavours: a chocolate sponge covered in chocolate buttercream frosting; and a madeira sponge with striped rainbow frosting. Both have an RSP of £15.
“Kids today want to interact with everything and, following the popularity of Asda piñata cakes, we wanted to make our cakes even more exciting and interactive,” said Hannah Gelderd, an Asda spokesperson for celebration cakes.
“We loved seeing the board game biscuit creations on Bake Off and hope it inspires Brits to try out The Crash Cake as the perfect party centrepiece.”
