Pidy has launched two new frozen sponge sheets offering on-trend flavours.
Available from wholesalers and bakery distributors, the additions include raspberry and pistachio flavours and will be part of its Technipat range.
The sheets, which will be produced in France, are stored frozen and have a shelf life of 12 months. They can be defrosted in minutes and can complement a host of fillings, flavours and toppings, said Pidy.
Pidy UK’s national account manager Fabien Levet added that the new sponge sheets provided chefs with a staple ingredient for a show-stopping dessert.
“Not only do the sponge sheets offer fantastic flavour, but their vibrant colour adds to the visual appeal of the final dish,” said Levet. “The two flavours have been introduced simultaneously because they are wonderfully complementary to one another, as well as being used individually. We are delighted with the final result and the greater flexibility they offer.”
The launch follows the introduction of Pidy’s neutral and chocolate sponge sheets in June 2017.
