A panettone weighing more than 332kg has been awarded a Guinness World Records certificate for being the largest panettone ever.

The record-winning Christmas panettone – which weighs 332.2kg and is 1.5 metres tall – was made by a team of six professionals from Milan’s Chocolate Academy Center who spent more than 100 hours producing it.

The recipe features a selection of chocolate, including ruby, dark and white, as well as honey, cream and candied orange.

The giant panettone was put on display, and pieces offered to passers-by, in the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II shopping mall in Milan city centre.
