Heidi Bakery is to extend the reach of its products following the acquisition of the Caracoli coffee shop chain.

Heidi, which made headlines earlier this year after partnering with Harry Redknapp to produce his jam roly poly, has taken on the remaining two sites in the Caracoli business, in Alresford and Haslemere.

Last year, Caracoli had closed sites in Guildford and Farnham to focus on the remaining two outlets.

“At Heidi we care deeply about the food and coffee we serve, so Caracoli was a natural fit,” said Heidi director Rory Shanks.

“Acquiring the business allows us to get our made-from-scratch food into more markets, while adding a solid brand to our portfolio. We’re confident that our new customers will love some of the range we look to introduce – and we’re equally excited to get the famous Caracoli Cookie into Heidi.”

Heidi was founded by Heidi Daniel after she convinced her father to let her open a small bakery in the family department store in Windsor. In addition to the Windsor site, Heidi also has a bakery at Elphicks department store in Farnham, Surrey.

“Through the acquisition we’ve also picked up two beautiful buildings in New Alresford and Haslemere, themselves great towns to add to Windsor and Farnham,” added Shanks. “We can’t wait to meet the locals and regulars over the next few weeks.”

Savills, which secured the sale of the Caracoli coffee stores to Heidi, said both businesses had been built independently and grown organically.

“Under the new management, Caracoli will continue to trade as normal,” explained Chris Bickle, director in the licensed leisure team at Savills. “We are pleased to have been involved in ushering in this new era.”
