An explosion at the Mothers Pride bakery in Glasgow last night has left two men in hospital. Emergency services were called after a gas oven exploded at the British Bakeries-owned site, according to the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.

One man had reported head injuries and another was reported to have an arm injury. Two other men were treated for shock.

Twenty firefighters and police and ambulance services attended the scene, but it is still unclear what caused the explosion.

According to one worker, staff are on site as usual this morning, but it is unknown whether the bakery is operating as normal.
